F.A.Q.
Therapy can help with a wide range of concerns—from anxiety and depression to life transitions, relationship issues, trauma, grief, and more. Our office is home to over 30 licensed therapists, each with their own specialties. If you’re unsure whether your specific needs can be addressed through therapy, we encourage you to reach out to our intake coordinator. They’ll work with you to find a therapist who best matches your needs and preferences.
Your first session—often called an intake—focuses on gathering information to help your therapist understand your goals and needs. You’ll be asked about your reasons for seeking therapy, your mental health history, and any previous therapy experiences. You are not expected to share everything right away—your comfort and pace are important. The session is an opportunity to start building a trusting relationship.
Most sessions are 50 to 60 minutes long and take place weekly or biweekly, depending on your therapist’s recommendation and your availability. During your intake, you and your therapist will decide on a meeting schedule that works best for your goals and needs. Session frequency and duration can be adjusted over time based on progress, symptoms, and life circumstances.
Therapy is a highly individual process. While some clients experience meaningful change within a few sessions, others may benefit from longer-term support. On average, we suggest planning for at least 10 sessions. The duration depends on your goals, symptoms, and personal circumstances. It’s important to know that progress in therapy requires commitment, and sometimes things may feel more difficult before they improve. Open communication with your therapist is key throughout the process.
We are committed to creating a welcoming, inclusive space where every individual feels seen, heard, and supported on their path to healing, hope, and wholeness. Our therapists strive to provide compassionate, culturally responsive care and believe that everyone—regardless of race, ethnicity, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, or background—deserves a safe space for growth. We are guided by values of authenticity, respect, and community.
