Matt has been helping people find their way for over twenty years.
Matt works with each client to understand his or her unique situation and then use
research based methods to help each person find positive solutions. His approach to
counseling draws on each client’s personal values and beliefs in a safe and
non-judgmental way. In his practice, Matt often works with men, couples, and
leaders from a wide variety of backgrounds.
Before working as a therapist, Matt began his career in ministry and served several
churches in various pastoral roles. He earned a Master of Arts in Theological Studies
with an emphasis in Pastoral Care from Trinity International University, in Deerfield,
IL. Recognizing both the strengths and limitations of pastoral ministry, Matt went
on to earn a Master of Arts in Counseling from Grand Rapids Theological Seminary.
In addition to his work in counseling, Matt has also taught psychology at a local
college and serves as a chaplain at area hospitals.
In his personal life, Matt is married and has four children. He has a love for music,
movies, cooking, and playing bass guitar. He also enjoys losing golf balls with
friends.
