Do you ever feel overwhelmed, stuck or like you are on a “merry go round” that you seem unable to get off of? Do you find yourself caught in a pattern of unhealthy relationships and ask yourself, “How did I get here?” Do you feel like you are not living the life you were meant to live? To be sure, life sometimes hands us unforeseen situations, heartaches, losses, and/or traumas that impacts and disrupts our sense of control and well being. I don’t have a magic wand that will make it all go away in a day, but what I can do is offer you hope and a supportive safe place to share your story, at your own pace, so you can begin the process of healing and making the necessary changes to begin experiencing a sense of control and stability. Just know making changes in your life and relationships requires courage, a choice, and a commitment to hard work. You will not be doing this journey alone; we will work together in an alignment with your therapeutic goals.
If you are not sure where to start and not quite sure about therapy, or about working with me, please feel free to set up a phone consultation with me, or I would be happy to meet with you to make sure we are the right fit for you and me to work together. It is important that you find a therapist that you feel that you can connect with.
My name is Teresa Fetterley. I am a master’s level psychologist who has a passion for helping people find hope and healing within a supportive therapeutic relationship. I recently retired as a public school middle school counselor. Serving in the role of a licensed school counselor, I wore many hats and it was a very rewarding experience. I had the privilege of walking alongside adolescents and parents for 27 yrs. helping to navigate the turbulent years of adolescents with all of the emotional ups and downs, social relationships, personal crises, family crises, significant grief and losses, and to help students embrace their innate value and worth. In addition to my work as a school counselor, I led adult groups on topics like “Boundaries” and “Safe People.”” I am a presenter and trainer for Human Trafficking 101 & 102. I present at various colleges and universities, public schools, and agencies. I am a co-contributor to A21’s K-12 Human Trafficking Education Curriculum.
I consider myself eclectic in my approach. I am person centered and focus on walking alongside my client. I am trauma informed, and have had training in CBT, trauma, and grief and loss as well as specialize in human trafficking. I continue to do professional development to serve my clients at the highest level possible. The population that I work well with are adolescents 14 yrs. above, youth, and adults at any age.
