About Julie Nyenbrink, LLMSW

Welcome! I’m glad you’re here.

Supporting others through life’s challenges and successes has always been at the heart of my work. Whether you’re navigating a difficult season, celebrating a meaningful milestone, or simply looking for a space to be heard, I strive to provide a welcoming and supportive environment where you can feel comfortable being yourself.

My therapeutic approach is warm, compassionate, and genuine. I believe in meeting clients where they are while also encouraging growth, resilience, and progress toward their goals. I take a holistic approach to care, recognizing the connection between emotional, mental, and overall well-being. I also value the role of humor in the healing process and believe that moments of laughter can be powerful sources of connection and strength.

My professional experience includes working within the child welfare system in both Child Protective Services (CPS) and foster care, providing individual and group therapy, and serving as a clinical social worker in a psychiatric hospital specializing in care for older adults. Throughout my career, I have had the privilege of working with individuals across the lifespan who are navigating a wide range of challenges, including trauma, anxiety and depression, major neurocognitive disorders, co-occurring conditions, child welfare involvement, grief and loss, parenting concerns, chronic illness, substance use, and spiritual issues. My therapeutic approach is tailored to each individual’s unique needs and strengths. I commonly incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), strength-based approaches, mindfulness practices, and play therapy techniques to help clients build insight, resilience, and practical skills for everyday life.

Julie's Background

I am a West Michigan native, originally from Hudsonville, and earned both my Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work degrees from Grand Valley State University. During my undergraduate studies, I also minored in Psychology and completed a Child Welfare Certificate. I currently live in Zeeland, Michigan, with my husband, daughter, and our lively collection of pets, including dogs, chickens, and bunnies. Outside of work, I enjoy camping, staying active, and spending quality time with family and friends. My family and I are actively involved in our church community and enjoy serving others through various ministries.

I consider it a privilege to walk alongside individuals and families as they pursue healing, growth, and lasting change. I look forward to partnering with you on your journey toward greater wellness and fulfillment!
